he vibrant sound of the Ancora String Quartet will resonate throughout the concert hall at the first Sunday concert this season.
This chamber ensemble of four of the Madison area's finest young musicians is making a name for itself with dynamic performances of repertoire that ranges from Mozart to the Indigo Girls.
The musicians of the quartet, Leanne Kelso League (violin), Robin Ryan (violin), Marika Fischer Hoyt (viola), and Benjamin Whitcomb (cello), earned degrees from leading music schools including the New England Conservatory, Eastman School of Music, Indiana University and the University of Texas-Austin.
They are in demand as freelance musicians and appear in the Madison Symphony, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and the Wisconsin Baroque Ensemble.
The ASQ performs in Madison and throughout south-central Wisconsin.
