Bring your blanket and your picnic basket to Monroe Arts Center. MAC is pleased to announce the schedule for the new 11/14 Summer of Music concert series. Concerts will take place on the 4th Wednesday of May, June, and July from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm each evening on the south outdoor terrace (on corner of 11th Street and 14th Avenue) of Monroe Arts Center. All concerts are FREE and open to the public.

All That Jazz Quintet (ATJ) is the first of three concerts in the series and is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2019. ATJ Quintet extensive repertoire includes a mix of jazz standards and rock covers.Their music includes such famous favorites as "Caravan" and "Watermelon Man." 

To help kick off this concert, they will be joined by ATJ big band vocalist Judy Knudtson, Madison, and guest keyboard player, Jim Brown of Stoughton. They will provide more vocal jazz standards such as “Night and Day,” “Summertime,” and “I Remember You,” as well as soft rock cover songs.

ATJ is a regular feature at the Madison Art Fair on the Square and Tunes at the Monona Terrace. They have opened shows for Rockapella  and recently gained national exposure on the CBS Early Show. The band has also begun an outreach program for the “next generation” of jazz musicians, and has performed with and for Wisconsin students in Evansville, McFarland, Mt. Horeb, Spring Green, Verona, and Waunakee.

In addition that evening, MAC will be dedicating the east side landscaping and grounds, and the first hour of the concert will feature a wine tasting event by Bailey’s Run Vineyard. Join us on May 22 - there is no better way to experience the Big Band sound than a live performance!

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be presented in MAC's Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall.
