It’s time to get in the zone. The Comedy Zone, that is! Grab your friends and come enjoy an evening packed with fun and laughter at Monroe Arts Center’s very own “comedy club.” Add an extra zip to your weekend as nationally known stand-up comedians Chris Barnes and Charlie Kojis each bring their own brand of high-energy humor to Monroe. Get ready for a night of non-stop laughter!

There are two ways you can enjoy this evening of comedy in MAC’s intimate Rudd Hall.

1) I want to enjoy the show at a VIP table with up-front seating and heavy hors d'oeuvres.  $35 per person (cash bar)

2) I already ate; I just want to sit back and enjoy the show.  $20 per person (cash bar)

Meet the Comedians

Headliner: Chris Barnes
When he was six years old, Chris Barnes already knew he wanted to be a stand-up comedian. In 1980, he made his first appearance on stage at Sardino’s, a local nite club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ever since then, this native Milwaukeean has been making his mark on the comedy scene throughout the Midwest, the South, and the East Coast with his storming style of humor. Barnes can be best described as a high-energy comic that will take an audience and keep them laughing as he interprets his experiences of life.

Barnes is also the man of many faces; his personality and facial expressions will bring an audience to life.  He has worked and laughed with such people as John Mendoza, JJ Jimmy Walker, Andrew Dice Clay, Sinbad, Bill Cosby, and many others.  It’s no surprise Barnes has become a national headliner, working in such clubs as Dangerfield’s in New York City; Rascals in New Jersey; Zanies in Chicago; Chaplin’s in Detroit; Comedy Cafe in Milwaukee; and many others throughout the country.

Feature: Charlie Kojis
He has been performing stand-up comedy since 2014. Combining his life experiences and general fears, Charlie blends traditional joke telling with his own personal narrative. His dry delivery leaves audiences both laughing and wondering if he is as okay as he pretends to be. Based in Madison Wisconsin, Charlie performs throughout the Midwest and has opened for comedians who include Tig Notaro, Gary Gulman, and Michael Che (Saturday Night Live). He was the winner of Madison's Funniest Comic Competition at Comedy on State in 2016.
