PERFORMANCES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON BIG RADIO!
It's time to get your act together and get ready to audition for the 2013 MAC Radio Live-Showcase of Talent. If you have always wanted to perform on stage, if you are already an established performer that loves to entertain, or if you are someone looking for that "big break," then don't miss this opportunity to audition for a part in this popular event.
For a fifthteenth year, the Monroe Arts Center is proud to host this annual event showcasing the area's wealth of highly talented individuals and groups. In collaboration with Big Radio, MAC Radio Live-2013 Showcase of Talent will be presented in the same manner as other well-known radio broadcasts (think Prairie Home Companion), as it will be broadcast LIVE on Big Radio. The show will also include commercial jingles, the return of last year's house band Betty and the Bee Stings, directed by Peggy Miller Sheffer, and a live studio audience. MAC Radio Live promises to provide an evening jam-packed with entertainment for the entire family. This is a tremendous opportunity for any talent, as they will be performing for both a live studio and a large radio-listening audience.
Any interested individuals with performing arts talents are encouraged to audition. Auditions are open to adults, children, as well as any size group. Even though the performances are before a live studio audience, acts that translate particularly well to a radio audience will be sought. Entertainment in all genres of music (popular, jazz, folk, orchestral, chamber, solo, etc.), comedy (stand-up, skits, improv, etc.), and other types of acts are encouraged to audition and will be considered.
* Performers may audition for no more than two acts.
* Performers are required to audition their act in it's entirety, up to a maximum of five minutes in length.
* Come well-prepared and audition as if at the performance itself...lyrics memorized, background singers if
necessary to your act, etc.
* Performance attire, costumes, etc. are required at auditions. Performers not wearing appropriate
performance attire or costume will forfeit their audition slot.
