Entertainment and education go hand-in-hand with Big Top Chautauqua’s multi-media presentation of Wild Woods and Water. This 45-minute illuminated concert, complete with a student guide for teachers, is not only a celebration of the Midwest’s greatest natural resources but a call to good stewardship to keep them safe for generations to come. It’s a simply beautiful show.


ABOUT BIG TOP CHAUTAUQUA:
When it’s time to pull up the tent stakes and roll up the canvas in the fall, the Big Top Chautauqua performers and crew hit the road to bring their original shows to performing arts centers and schools throughout the Midwest.

The Chautauqua Original Musicals capture the essence of living in the Midwest through original music, stories, and large-screen historic images, with songs about the Great Lakes, the people and the land.

Big Top Chautauqua serve as traveling ambassadors for the Northland by taking the Big Top to audiences in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota. They have been recognized with a U.S. Department of Education grant to take educational original shows into schools. Over 40,000 students have seen our productions.

The Wisconsin Historical Society has recognized the achievements and contributions of Big Top Chautauqua by presenting them a Wisconsin History Award, the first ever given by the Society.
