The intoxicating soprano voice of Mimmi Fulmer blends exquisitely with the sounds produced on the fortepiano by master musician, Trevor Stephenson. The fortepiano was the prominent keyboard instrument of the Classical and Early Romantic eras. Haydn, Beethoven, and Schubert played and composed specifically for this instrument, and their works represent the idiomatic high point of fortepiano. The Fulmer and Stephenson duo has performed at the Boston Early Music Festival, Mozart’s Nature, Mozart’s World Symposium, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Chazen Museum of Art at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and at the College Music Society Conference in Chicago. Mimmi Fulmer has been a featured soloist throughout the United States including the Aspen Festival and The Kennedy Center. She is a Professor of Voice and Associate Director of Opera at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her work has been distinguished with both the Vilas Associate and Chancellor\'s Awards. Trevor Stephenson has toured throughout the United States as fortepianist, pianist, and speaker. He has rebuilt and customized a series of historical keyboard instruments ranging from Italian Renaissance harpsichords to Victorian pianos. With these instruments he gives concerts and lectures throughout the United States. He has degrees in piano performance from the University of Missouri and the University of Illinois and he received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Historical Performance of 18th-Century Music from Cornell University. Since 1994 Stephenson has released twelve recordings.
