The Monroe Arts Center’s Yamaha grand piano will come alive when pianist Mark Valenti takes the stage. Mark has given solo recitals in cities throughout the United States and has also performed in France, Belgium, Hungary, and Luxembourg, as well as for former First Lady Barbara Bush in Washington, D.C. He has studied with such notable teachers as Benjamin Whitten, Zoltan Kocsis, and Mary Sauer. Although classically trained, Valenti has done extensive work in the Jazz field including performances with Gregory Hines, Frank Foster, and Al Grey. His appearances include television with Joe Sudler’s Swing Machine and singer/actor Christopher Durham, and a live recital on WFMT classical radio.
