ARTIST STATEMENT

I enjoy painting urban scenes but I am especially drawn to unusual viewpoints and aspects of the city. This may be street artifacts or construction or views from the alley and street level. This also includes people and their interactions. Not as individual portraits but as integral pieces of the city.

Edges and texture are important concepts for a painting. And to express the true nature of the metropolis. I choose to show grittiness rather than glamour. That is more interesting and authentic.

Gallery Exhibits have been supported by MAC Corporate Underwriter Colony Brands, Inc. and Season Media Underwriter Big Radio, with additional support from Lee & Chris Knuteson, David & Janeen Babler, Hans & Bobbie Bernet, David & Julie Buchanan, Deb Thompson, Chuck & Chris Wellington.
