Marie brings her enthusiasm as a visual artist, writer, librarian and educator to MAC as its Executive Director. She has been an oil and pastel artist for over twenty years, following her success as a children’s book author and illustrator.  Marie has written and illustrated two children’s books (“A Gift for Sadia” & “Cecil’s New Year’s Eve Tail”– both nationally reviewed, sold and distributed) as well as illustrated an additional children’s picture book “I Love Seeds.”  Marie has taught the craft of children’s writing and illustrating in the schools (K-12) as an artist-in-residence through NEA funding and spoken nationally for TESLA, Library Organizations & the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators.  Most recently, Marie gave the Key Note Address for the Greater Dane County Anthology Project (2024.)  She is excited to share her background with MAC youth!
