Take a “crack” at this “eggstra” special class!

The fine art of creating handmade Sugar Eggs is a craft that dates back to Victorian times.  Also known as Sugared Eggs or Panoramic Eggs, they are a decorative confection that is as fascinating as it is beautiful.  Everyone loves the magic of viewing the scene inside.

Sugar eggs are a fun, traditional Easter craft that is often saved for years, sometimes generations. Join us as we explore the fun and art of making Sugar Eggs.

Both Adult and Student classes will be in person at the Monroe Arts Center.

Linda is the mother of two adult children and lives in Columbus, North Carolina. Linda began making sugar eggs with her sister and some friends for fun. She quickly became known as the “sugar egg lady” as neighbors began knocking on her door hoping to purchase one of her creations. Linda entered and won a televised competition and in 1981 Hallmark was also knocking at her door. Within the span of 3 months Linda made over 10,000 sugar eggs for Hallmark. Her children recall there were “sugar eggs everywhere that spring!”
