ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Elizabeth Sawyer Kelly is current President of the Madison Watercolor Society and Secretary of the Association of Wisconsin Artists. Originally from North Carolina, Elizabeth has lived in Madison since 1988. Elizabeth started painting with intent around 2005 when she gave up tennis and started taking classes and workshops. Elizabeth has shown at Watercolor Wisconsin in Racine, the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau, the Beloit Art Center, the Portage Center for the Arts, the UW Hospitals, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Madison, the UW Arboretum, numerous regional WRAPs (Wisconsin Regional Artist Program) as well as at the WRAP State Conferences. She was recently in the Wisconsin Visual Artists “Perspectives” Show in Fond du Lac.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“Finding My Way” showcases the artistic path of Elizabeth Sawyer Kelly. It highlights her strong sense of color and pattern, while also focusing on subject matter that supports, nurtures, and inspires her. Elizabeth strives to provide paintings that will delight the viewer while reminding the viewer of all that sustains their life: relationships, food, companion animals, and our planetary home.
