IT’S BACK!!
The popular MAC Youth Art Class is back on Friday afternoons. If you’re looking for something fun, creative, and totally cool for your child to do after school, MAC has the perfect solution for those Friday afternoons that school will be letting out early.
In this art program, students in Kindergarten through 5th grade can continue to build their lifelong discovery, exploration, and appreciation of the arts. During each of the six sessions, art instructor Lisa Beach will provide lessons in various aspects of art and art techniques. She will guide students through each project, while instilling creativity and expanding the imaginations of budding artists.
Weekly Schedule
WEEK 1 – January 12 GEOMETRY IN ART
We’re off to a great start so put your creative caps on! We’re creating Geometric Paper Collages!
WEEK 2 – January 19 UNIQUE AND ONE-OF-A-KIND
Part 1 of 2 on Printmaking! We will learn all about printmaking techniques and then experiment with some abstract mono-printmaking!
WEEK 3 – January 26 ONE MORE TIME
We’ll continue our printmaking exploration by learning about inks and brayers! Then we’ll create our own prints by using the relief printmaking technique.
WEEK 4 – February 2 IS IT A PAINTING OR A PHOTO?
Bright colors, and nostalgic items with a complete focus on detail describes photorealism artist Glennray Tutor. We will use his art as our inspiration to create a Glennray Tutor inspired Snow Globe.
WEEK 5 – February 9 MORE SNOW GLOBES
We’ll continue our theme of Snow Globes to create a 3D paper snow globe!
WEEK 6 – February 16 SCULPTURES IN PAPER
Last but not least… Paper Sculptures!! We’ll learn about the difference between shapes and forms. Then we’ll practice creating paper forms as a class. Lastly, students will create their own unique sculpture.

All sessions will take place in the StArt Center at MAC 1:30 – 3:00 PM on Fridays. All supplies included.
